چکیده

Context. The Galactic Center black hole and the nuclear star cluster are surrounded by a clumpy ring of gas dust, circumnuclear disk (CND), that rotates about them at standoff distance ≃1.5 pc. mass density individual clumps in CND disputed. Aims. We seek to use H 2 characterize clump size distribution investigate morphology dynamics interface between ionized interior layer molecular reservoir lying farther out (corresponding inner rim CND, illuminated ultraviolet light central cluster). Methods. have observed two fields approximately 20″ × near-infrared wavelengths with OSIRIS spectro-imager Keck Observatory. These fields, located approaching receding nodes best display this interface. Our data cover lines as well Br γ line (tracing II). developed tool CubeFit, an original method for extracting maps continuous physical parameters (such velocity field dispersion) from integral-field spectroscopy data, using regularization largely preserve spatial resolution regions low signal-to-noise ratio. Results. This enables us isolate compact, bright features interstellar medium CND. Several southwestern assume appearance filaments, many which parallel one another. conclude these cannot be self-gravitating.

From the Circumnuclear Disk in the Galactic Center to thick, obscuring tori of AGNs

We compare three different models of clumpy gas disk and show that the Circumnuclear Disk (CND) in the Galactic Center and a putative, geometrically thick, obscuring torus are best explained by a collisional model consisting of quasi-stable, self-gravitating clouds. Kinetic energy of clouds is gained by mass inflow and dissipated in cloud collisions. The collisions give rise to a viscosity in a...

HCN and HCO+ Observations of the Galactic Circumnuclear Disk

We present high spatial resolution (5.1 × 2.7) Owens Valley Radio Observatory (OVRO) millimeter array observations of HCN (J=1-0) and HCO (J=10) emission in the inner 3 pc of the Galaxy (0.04 pc ∼ 1). The HCN and HCO emission of the Circumnuclear Disk (CND) is distributed in a well-defined ring with a peak at a radius of 1.6 pc. The observed radial velocities are generally consistent with rotat...

A cool disk in the Galactic Center ?

We study the possibility of a cool disk existing in the Galactic Center in the framework of the disk-corona evapora-tion/condensation model. Assuming an inactive disk near the gravitational capture distance left over from an earlier evolutionary stage, a hot corona should form above the disk since there is a continuous supply of hot gas from stellar winds of the close-by massive stars. We study...

Ambipolar Diffusion and Far-Infrared Polarization from the Galactic Circumnuclear Disk

We describe an implicit prediction of the accretion disk models constructed by Wardle and Königl (1990) for the circumnuclear disk (CND) of gas and dust near the Galactic center: supersonic ambipolar diffusion, an essential dynamical ingredient of the Wardle-Königl disks, will cause the alignment of dust grains due to a process described by Roberge, Hanany, & Messinger (1995). We calculate synt...

A cloudy model for the Circumnuclear Disk in the Galactic Centre

We present a first attempt to construct an analytic model for a clumped gas and dust disk and apply it to the Galactic Centre. The clumps are described as isothermal spheres partially ionized by the external UV radiation field. The disk structure formed by the clouds is described as a quasi standard continuous accretion disk using adequately averaged parameters of the discrete cloud model. The ...
